Borderlands 3 - Currency

This post is quick and simple but seriously, we all knew we needed a quick idea what to expect.

Today's Borderlands 3 post is about:
  • Currencies

In Borderlands 3, there are multiple currencies to keep in fill with previous installments and then some. This post will cover all of the currencies you will encounter and what they will be used for. As with all my previous posts, this is more of a general post and will be simplified.

Cash

  • Drops frequently from all enemies or lootable objects
  • Amount dropped is based on your Bank level and your Difficulty level
  • 5 types of cash drop items
  • Cash is used to buy weapons, ammo, shields, pay for capital ship upgrades, and play Cash Games in Moxxi Minigames
Eridium

  • Drops in an uncommon quantity from enemies (after you unlock the Black Market), as well as bosses.
  • Amount dropped is dependent on the enemy type/boss
  • 1 Eridium Bar = frequent
  • 4 Eridium Bars (Eridium Stack) = uncommon
  • 10 Eridium Bars (Eridium Pallet) = rare
  • Eridium is used to buy SDU upgrades and play Eridium Games in Moxxi Minigames

Moonstone

  • Drops in an uncommon quantity from enemies (after you unlock the Moonstone Workbench in Pandora), as well as bosses.
  • Amount dropped is dependent on the enemy type/boss
  • 4 Moonstone (Moonstone) = frequent
  • 10 Moonstone (Moonstone Cluster) = uncommon
  • 20 Moonstone (Moonstone Rock) = rare
  • Moonstone is used to unlock Raid bosses/encounters, also used to enhance weapons in Moonstone Workbenches, or play the Arena modes in Moxxi Arenas.
Mad Moxxi's Tickets

  • Only dropped from playing Moxxi Minigames in one of her establishments.
  • Amount dropped is based on score, performance, and luck (depends on game)
  • Use tickets to purchase assorted items.
  • These are required to purchase Tier 15 SDU upgrades.
  • If playing on Co-Op, depending on performance, all players receive the ticket amount specified.
  • Mad Moxxi's Tickets are used to purchase items, Eridium/Moonstone crates, Tier 15 SDU upgrades, and Legendary/Pearlescents.
Seraph Crystals

  • Dropped by Raid bosses or Arena encounters.
  • Amount dropped is based on the base level of the raid boss.
  • Use Seraph Crystals to buy pink quality items that cannot drop or be crafted.
Star Alliance/Crafters Tokens

  • Search for them in World 2 and 5.
  • Amount dropped is based on the quality of the token you loot.
  • Use Star Alliance/Crafter's Tokens to purchase blueprints, loot and various other items.
The July Post
  • I will post the list of topics I will cover in July soon. (probably tomorrow). So, we can only hope the ideas I post continue to enlighten the future, or not...
